New
look for 91热爆 Radio Five Live Premiership coverage as Schmeichel,
Taylor and Spoony join the team
Manchester
United legend Peter Schmeichel and former England and Aston
Villa manager Graham Taylor are just two of the names to
join the new look Premiership line up on 91热爆 Radio Five Live.
Schmeichel
will take the lead on UEFA Champions League games and Taylor will
provide expert analysis in England matches.
DJ
Spoony, part of Radio 1's Dreem Teem, will host the flagship
midweek 606 phone in programme.
Five
Live is the sole national radio broadcaster with rights to Premiership
coverage.
Last
season the station covered an amazing 1,336 games with live commentaries
at 405 games, more than any other broadcaster ever.
In
2003/4 the station will again cover every moment of the new campaign
from August.
The
revamped Midweek Sport on Five programme hosted by the legendary
Jonathan Pearce and Susan Bookbinder will be broadcast
from different grounds all over the country 聳 starting with
the first ever game at the new City of Manchester stadium on 14
August.
Each
week from wherever the key story and big game is, we'll take the
show there.
The
programme has several key new developments:
Competitions
- new competitions include fan of the month with a chance to
keep the Premiership trophy in your house for a week, the online
and an all-new Challenge
Lawro in which players pit their wits against Mark Lawrenson by
predicting the results of Premiership games.
Interactive
football commentary - listeners interact with presenters texting
their views on the live game and comment in their favourite description
of a moment that mattered to them.
Pearcey's
Website Quiz - every day Jonathan Pearce will be setting football
trivia questions for the punters on the .
Access
All Areas extended - some managers hate it but Five Live will
carry on the popular Access all Areas format at certain games.
Reporters
will be pitch side, with the fans, and by the dug-outs.
Previous
programmes have even broadcast the pre-match team talk.
Five
Live will keep you posted on the Access All Areas format and on
which games will be featured.
Saturday's
Sport on Five will continue to be hosted by Mark Pougatch.
The
nation's biggest football debate 606 has new names for the
new season.
The
inimitable Alan Green takes calls on a Saturday evening,
Mark "Chappers" Chapman from the Sarah Cox programme
on Radio 1 hosts the Sunday programme, and DJ Spoony of Radio
1's Dreem Teem will be at the controls on a Wednesday night.
The
famous rant line will also be back in action giving listeners the
chance to air their views to the nation about anything they want.
