Radio Solent gains 55,000 new listeners
More
than 55,000 new listeners are tuning into 91热爆 Radio Solent each
week, according to the latest listening figures issued by RAJAR
today (Thursday 8 May 2003).
The
figures - based on the first quarter of this year - show that more
than 425,000 people in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight listen
to the station each week, and that's over a quarter of the local
population.
Julian
Clegg - presenter of Radio Solent's Solent Today breakfast programme
- says: "I'm delighted the new figures show that we're still
the South's favourite breakfast programme.
"What's
so nice is that it's the listeners who make our programmes so lively
and entertaining.
"Our
news stories are driven by them, and they respond to our features
and competitions in their thousands!
"This
is a great part of the world to do radio. All the effort we put
in for the listeners is repaid tenfold by them."

that so many people have decided to join the Radio Solent family
in the last three months.
"I
think we have the most entertaining and distinctive presenters on
the dial as well as great news coverage and award winning sport.
"There
are more stations on air than ever before, so we're particularly
pleased that we now have more listeners than any of our rivals."
Andy
Griffee, 91热爆 Controller, English Regions, says: "91热爆 local
radio reaches millions and is a lifeline to many.
"I
would like to thank the extraordinary people who work so hard to
