Radio Sheffield gains 16,000 new listeners
The
number of people who tune in to the 91热爆 Radio Sheffield continues
to grow, according to the latest RAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research)
figures released today (Thursday 8 May 2003).
The
official radio statistics show that 91热爆 Radio Sheffield added 16,000
new listeners over the last three months - boosting its weekly audience
to 290,000.
According
to the independent audience research figures, listeners are also
tuning in to 91热爆 Radio Sheffield for an average 10.6 hours a week.
That
represents an increase from 9.8 hours three months ago.

Radio Sheffield's managing editor Gary Keown says: "This is
a recognition of the depth and range of programmes we produce which
connects with all our audiences.
"Everyone
at the station has responded to the communities they serve and produced
and presented programmes that reflect Yorkshire life.
"Their
surefooted assessment of what people want, the professionalism in
the way they have delivered new and special services at speed, and
their sheer hard work is reflected in these fabulous listening figures
and is a credit to the whole team."

Radio Sheffield's share of total radio listening in its transmission
area has also gone up from 10.2% to 11.3% in the last three months.
