is voted UK entry for Eurovision 2003 on Song For Europe on 91热爆
ONE
Liverpudlian duo Jemini singing Cry Baby was today
voted by Song For Europe viewers as their choice for this year's
UK entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003.
The
winning song was written and composed by Martin Isherwood.
Over 100,000 votes were cast in this year's Song For Europe which
was presented by Terry Wogan today (Sunday 2 March) at 4.35pm on
91热爆 ONE.
The
voting method for this year's programme followed the classic Eurovision
Point system with six regions of the UK (South, North, Midlands,
Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) awarding 12, 10, or 9 points.
Each
region was represented by a special celebrity guest - Esther Rantzen,
Nicholas Parsons, UK 2002 Eurovision heroine Jessica Garlick, comedians
Mel and Sue, Jo Mace and Blue Peter presenter Matt Baker.
Jemini
will represent the UK at Eurovision 2003 which takes place in Riga,
Latvia on 24 May.
It
will be broadcast live on 91热爆 ONE with Terry Wogan providing his
usual commentary on one Europe's biggest and most notorious music
competitions.

Eight
finalists were
chosen for the UK Entry in Eurovision 2003 by The British Academy
of Composers and Songwriters, the 91热爆 and Music Industry experts
in January 2003.
The
eight finalists were played on The Ken Bruce Show and Wake Up To
Wogan on 91热爆 Radio 2 between 27 and 31 January.
Four
finalists were voted for by Radio 2 listeners and web-users and
announced on 31 January 2002.
Song
For Europe 2003 was broadcast live today, 4.35-5.15pm on 91热爆 ONE.
