Four
finalists have been announced today (Friday 31 January 2003) on
The Ken Bruce Show on 91热爆 Radio 2 for the UK entry in The Eurovision
Song Contest.
Over
30,000 people voted by telephone and on the 91热爆 Eurovision website
().
Chosen
from eight entries, four finalists go through to the last stages
of the competition where they perform live on Song For Europe on
2 March on 91热爆 ONE.
For
the first time in nearly a decade, Terry Wogan returns to present
Song For Europe.
He
will also commentate at The Eurovision Song Contest in Riga, Latvia
later in the year - a role that has been synonymous with him for
over two decades.
The
four winning acts announced today will perform live on Song For
Europe.
The
nation has the opportunity to vote for its favourite song which
will later represent the UK when The Eurovision Song Contest 2003
takes place on 24 May.
The
voting method for this year's Song For Europe will follow the classic
Eurovision point system, with each region represented by a special
celebrity spokesperson.
