91热爆 Radio's reach stands at 32.7 million - that's up 182,000 on the last quarter and 53,000 on last year - compared with 31.9 million for Commercial Radio according to figures published today (30 January 2003) by RAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research).

The figures, which cover the period 16 September to 15 December 2003, showed the 91热爆's share at 52.5%, (down 0.1% on the quarter and 0.9% year on year) which is seven clear points ahead of Commercial Radio's 45.5%.

Last year's figures covered the events of September 11, 2001 and saw some exceptionally high listening.

Radio 2 had yet another outstanding quarter reaching new records in both reach and share.

Reach, which stands at 13.3 million, is up 775,000 on the quarter and up almost a million (917,000) on the year.

Share, which is at 15.8%, is up 0.6% on both the quarter and on the year.

Both Terry Wogan and Steve Wright gained over 600,000 listeners year on year for their weekday shows.

Jenny Abramsky, the 91热爆's Director of Radio & Music, said: "I'm delighted to see Radio 2 going from strength to strength but the most important news for the industry is that all radio listening is up."

Radio 1's reach amongst its target audience of 15-24 year-olds is up slightly to 3.77 million.

Overall its reach amongst adults is 10.5 million, down 374,000 on the quarter and 288,000 on the year.

Share at 8.4% is down 0.4% on the quarter and 0.7% on last year.

Radio 1's audience aged 4+ shows a reach of 12.67 million and a share of 8.8%.

Radio 3's reach at 2.2 million has held steady on last quarter's high Proms and summer performance and is up 174,000 on last year.

Share at 1.2% is also stable - down 0.1% on the quarter and up 0.1% on the year.

Radio 4's reach at 9.8 million is fairly stable, dipping a little by 114,000 on the quarter and predictably down (by 141,000) on what was a record quarter four last year.

Share at 11.5% is down by 0.3 on the quarter and 0.5 on a last year's high.

The Archers benefited from the strong Brian/Siobhan storyline, reaching an audience of just under 5 million with the Sunday morning omnibus achieving 2.1million - the second highest figure since the new methodology began.
