Radio Five Live, the home of live news and sport, will become the
World Cup Radio Station for the duration of the 2002 tournament.
With
the games being played from 7.30am British Summer Time, Five Live
will come into its own as the easiest way to get the World Cup live
commentary on 49 games, and coverage of every twist and turn of
the biggest football competition there is.
World
Cup followers can enjoy live coverage over breakfast, in the car
if they're driving to work, and can take the radio and the Five
Live team with them into the workplace to hear every minute of commentary
- employers permitting!
Right
from the off on 31 May, Five Live's award winning team will deliver
coverage of every match, throughout the tournament, with firm favourites
Alan Green and Mike Ingham and new recruit Jonathan Pearce delivering
the very best in radio commentary on 49 games.
Second
newcomer to Five Live Andy Gray joins the top class team of experts
which includes Terry Butcher, Craig Brown, Jimmy Armfield, Pat Nevin
and Chris Waddle.
Morning
listeners familiar with Five Live Breakfast will hear the dulcet
tones of Victoria Derbyshire as usual, as she broadcasts live from
Japan and Korea. Nicky Campbell will not disappoint his regular
followers as he too presents live from the World Cup. Sport on Five's
Ian Payne and Mark Pougatch complete the team of presenters on location.
And
even before kick off on 31 May, 91热爆 Radio Five Live will be bringing
listeners everything they need to know about the most famous tournament
on the planet, with The Chancer聮s Guide to the World Cup, Mark
and Lard聮s Top Teams, and an array of other programmes scheduled
around the live action.
