The Irish failed
to qualify for the 1998 World Cup, but now they're back to cause
an upset.

Ireland famously
reached the quarter finals back in 1990. They'll be hoping to do
the same with a talented side.
Nottingham student Chris Reinert, admits he's only half Irish, his
other half being German! Chris takes a look at Ireland's chances
in this year's World Cup. Also, see what Anthony
Stanley thinks to the Ireland side.

How
is your country preparing for the World Cup? |
Filling
the pubs I should imagine! |
How
do you think Ireland will do in the World Cup? |
Hopefully
as well as we did the last time we participated. I expect we
will progress beyond the group and into the knockout stages
but beyond this it'll be down to some 'luck of the Irish'.
|
Who's
your best player and why? |
We have
a lot of underestimated talent but Roy Keane is the driving
inspiration, belief and experience that hopefully will be the
difference between mediocrity and world class. |
What
do you think to the England side? |
Not bad
but could be better. I don't think they will reach the semi-finals
but should like Ireland get past their group. |
Where
will you be watching the matches? |
Due to
the times wherever I can. The local Irish pubs would be the
first choice but at home with a cool pint of Guiness if not.
