The smell
of cotton candy and hot dogs will soon be wafting from the Forest
Recreation Ground again as the 708th Goose Fair hits town. |

The fair starts at 6pm Wednesday, 2nd October and
runs until 11.30pm on Saturday 5th October 2002.
The Lord Mayor of Nottingham will ring a pair of silver bells to officially
open the fair on Thursday 3rd October at noon.
Admission is free.

You should be prepared for crowds, as more than one
million visitors are expected at the fair, which covers 18 acres.
Expect over 150 children's rides more than
60 adult rides as well as hundreds of stalls. New rides for
this year's fair are the Crane Bungee Jump and the Equinox. [read

Other attractions
There will be over a dozen shows including "Believe it or not
oddities" displaying all manner of preserved peculiarities such
as an 8-legged pig.
Around 250 games stalls will be on hand to test skills of accuracy
and luck!
A vast selection of 300 other stalls offering toys to pottery, and
cuisine from all over the world: Belgium waffles, West Indian and
Indian dishes to French Crepes.
Parking
If you are thinking of taking your car to the fair, think again. There
isn鈥檛 any public parking on site, but you can take special shuttle
buses from the city centre and park-and-ride sites to the fair. [read

This year there local breweries are helping celebrate Goose Fair by
each bringing out a local brew named after some of the Fair's famous

Wrap up warm and if you are a fair virgin you'll have to try an obligatory
