International Dawn Chorus Day celebrates this remarkable daily event and walks are taking place all over the county so you can witness it for yourself...  A Blackbird International Dawn Chorus Day is on Sunday 4th May, but not all walks and events are taking place on that day. Make sure you wear suitable, warm outdoor clothing and strong boots or shoes for walking in. On some walks the ground may be uneven and there may be some hills, so check with the organisers of the walk if you have mobility problems. Saturday 3rd May 2008Dalby Forest - meet at the visitor centre at 5am. Cost is 拢10 and booking is essential. Ring 01751 472771.  A cheeky Robin. St Nicholas Fields, York are holding a Bird Walk at the more respectable time of 10am. Places are limited so ring 01904 411821 to reserve your place. Friday 9th May 2008Dallowgill, near Ripon. Join the North Yorkshire Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group's farm conservation adviser for an early morning walk starting at 5.30am. Booking is essential on 01609 783632. Saturday 10th May 2008Fountains Abbey. Meet at the Visitor Centre at 7am. Normal admission prices apply.
