LUFTWAFFE BLITZ PILOT TRACKED DOWN
When two parachute mines fell on homes in Messines Park in Derry, in 1941, 10-year-old Hazel McConnell was there, hiding under the stairs. She spoke to Mark Patterson on the anniversary of the start of the Blitz in September 2010. Also on the show, the historian, Leo Coyle, tells how he confronted the Luftwaffe pilot who dropped the bombs with the news that the explosions caused the deaths of 13 people.
