BLITZ
In 1941, almost a thousand people were killed by German bombs that fell on Belfast on Easter Tuesday night. That same night, two parachute mines fell on homes in Messines Park in Derry, killing thirteen people. The events are recalled in The Belfast Blitz: Luftwaffe Raids on Northern Ireland, a new book by Derry writer, Sean McMahon, who spoke to Sarah Brett.
