Notting Hill Carnival, Europe's biggest street festival

More than a million people are thought to have flocked to London to join Europe's biggest street festival - the Notting Hill Carnival.
The carnival started in 1966 as a celebration of Caribbean culture and has taken place every August Bank Holiday since.
Drummers are just some of the thousands of musicians taking part in the two-day event.
Hundreds of street vendors are scattered around the west London parade route serving traditional Caribbean food, like jerk chicken and fried plantain.
People taking part in the parades spend months planning their floats and getting their elaborate costumes ready.
More than 40,000 volunteers have been involved in making the 2011 Notting Hill Carnival a success.
And more than 6,500 police officers were on duty to make sure there's no trouble, following the riots and looting across London earlier in the month.
