Jersey water prices to rise by 2.5% from April
Jersey Water has announced the cost of water will rise by 2.5% from 1 April.
Standing charges will remain unchanged for both metered and unmetered supplies, the company said.
Jersey Water's managing director, Howard Snowden, said the company had a policy of keeping tariffs at or below the rate of inflation.
He said: "This is the first increase in three years for our metered customers, by just 2.5% compared to a 5.4% rate of inflation in September."
Mr Snowden said the price of water had fallen by about 16% in real terms for metered customers in the past three years.
Meanwhile, water bills in England and Wales are to go up by more than the rate of inflation, with the average bill will rising by 5.7% in April.
