Palliative care nurse appointed in Jersey
- Published
The first Macmillan-funded specialist nurse has started offering care at Jersey's General hospital.
Angela Bradshaw will work with people diagnosed with chronic long term health problems, such as cancer, heart or renal failure.
Ms Bradshaw said: "It is a job I love, and I feel it is a privilege for people to let you into their lives at this poignant time in their life."
She came to Jersey from a post at NHS Ayrshire & Arran in April.
She added: "Palliative care begins from the point of diagnosis for those with long-term conditions, and encompasses end of life care, and bereavement follow-up."
It is being part-funded by Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey and a donation from RBS International, and is guaranteed for three years.
