Fee rise anticipated at Jersey College for Girls

  • Published

Parents of pupils at Jersey College for Girls could be charged more in fees after the school was told it was likely to lose part of its States grant.

Education Minister, Deputy James Reed, has asked college governors to consider the implications of a significant reduction in the annual States' grant.

He also asked them to explore how to reduce the impact on parents. The move is part of States public spending cuts.

It is not yet known how much the college fees would rise by.

Correction 6 October 2010: This story has been amended, after clarification from the college principal about the financial situation.
