Guernsey mobile regulation to be relaxed

Guernsey's regulator has said it is time to relax the constraints on the island's communications industry.
The Office of Utility Regulation said with three mobile network providers there was a greater degree of competition.
It said it was therefore considering relaxing the existing rules and procedures that govern them.
Michael Byrne, deputy director general, said competition was now setting the standards.
"A different competitive environment exists now than only a few years ago," he said.
"Regulation can be reduced as competition sets the standard in areas such as coverage, technical quality and customer care."
