Guernsey Post letter prices may be frozen
- Published
The price of posting letters in Guernsey could remain unchanged for the next 18 months if the industry's regulators agree.
Guernsey Post has proposed the price freeze, meaning posting a letter inside the Bailiwick would still cost 36p, while post to the UK would remain 45p.
The proposals include increases to large letter and packet tariffs and the reduction of some business tariffs.
If the regulator agrees the prices would come into effect on 1 April 2011.
Boley Smillie, Guernsey Post chief executive, said: "As well as freezing letter prices for household customers we have been able to freeze or reduce prices for most of our business and bulk mail customers."
