A 53-year-old man has died while in police custody.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed it happened at Haverfordwest police station on Saturday morning.

The matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), which is investigating.

"IPCC investigators were deployed to the scene and the post-incident procedure," an IPCC spokesman said.

"The investigation is in its early stages and we will provide a further update in due course."

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police passed on its condolences to the dead man's family.
