A new bridge is being installed at a Gwynedd castle on Wednesday to allow people to reach the entrance for the first time in 600 years.
The main section of the bridge at Harlech Castle will be lowered into place as part of the 拢6m project.
It will also see the former Harlech Castle hotel and car park transformed into a visitor centre.
The Cadw scheme, funded by the Heritage Tourism Project, is due to be finished by March.
The project is said to be complicated given the narrow, twisting streets of Harlech, and the tight entrance to the car park where the bridge is being unloaded in sections from a crane.
It will be partially assembled before being lifted into place, giving access to the castle through its historic outer wall gate for the first time in 600 years.
The main bridge structure will be lowered into place using a 200-tonne crane
The supports for the bridge are put in place. Work is expected to carry on for the next week
