Falkirk Council offer free insulation for homes

A local authority is giving away free insulation to thousands of households after receiving a government grant.
Falkirk Council said up to 16,000 private homes in Grangemouth, Denny and Bonnybridge were eligible to apply for the scheme.
Free loft and cavity wall insulation will be offered on a first come, first served basis to any properties that are not properly insulated.
The offer follows an 拢800,000 award from the Scottish government.
The council said homes could save about 拢150 a year on energy bills - as well as the cost of fitting loft and cavity wall insulation, which can run to hundreds of pounds. The council grants will not be means tested.
Jim Blackwood, Falkirk Council's housing convener, said: "This is a completely free offer to 16,000 householders that can offer benefits for many years to come.
"The process is straightforward, installation only takes a maximum of a few hours and the work is to a high standard from an approved contractor.
"There's also an opportunity to receive a free home energy check from trained advisors who can suggest ways for you to improve your energy efficiency and help save you money."
Council tenants are already offered help with home insulation.
