Golf fans have started to arrive in the Highlands for the Barclays Scottish Open at Castle Stuart, near Inverness.
Practice rounds on Wednesday will be followed by the tournament on Thursday. The event finishes on Sunday.
As many as 20,000 people are expected to attend each day of the competition, which Highland Council hopes will inject 拢5m into the local economy.
The Castle Stuart links course overlooking the Moray Firth only opened fully in 2010.
Players confirmed to compete in the Scottish Open include Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Phil Mickleson, Paul Lawrie and Padraig Harrington.
Police have urged motorists not headed for the event to avoid the A96 road close to turn-offs to Castle Stuart.
A traffic management plan has been put together to handle the large volumes of vehicles expected.
