Driver dies after A39 collision involving livestock lorry

A major road remains shut after a car driver died when his vehicle collided with a lorry carrying livestock.
The collision happened on the A39 between Fiddington and Cannington, near Bridgwater in Somerset.
Avon and Somerset Police said the driver of a purple Peugeot 107 car, a man in his 60s, despite the efforts of paramedics.
"His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them," the force added.
The lorry driver is not believed to have had sustained serious injuries.
The road remains closed in both directions while investigation work is carried out and vehicles are recovered.
Police have asked any witnesses, or motorists who were on the A39 at the time of the collision and may have dashcam footage, to contact officers.
