Lee Westwood made an OBE in Queen's Birthday Honours

Nottinghamshire golfer Lee Westwood has been made an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

The 38-year-old, from Worksop, is honoured for his services to the sport after becoming the world's top-ranked golfer in October.

Alan Meale, Labour MP for Mansfield since 1987, receives a knighthood for public and political services.

Betty Doris Morley, a Nottingham keep-fit teacher, is being made an MBE for voluntary service to physical activity.

Morris Oliver Samuels, who set up the popular Unity football project, is also being appointed MBE for services to young people in Nottingham through sport.

Christopher Eyre, Deputy Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire Police, receives a Queen's Police Medal.
