A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman who was stabbed near a bus stop in north-west London.

The victim, aged 66, was treated by paramedics on Burnt Oak Broadway in Edgware on Thursday but died shortly before midday.

He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

The Met Police previously said the attack was an "isolated incident" and no further suspects were being sought.

The stabbing happened close to the junction with Limesdale Gardens at about 11:50 BST. The woman's family has been informed.
