Redditch gets second West Midlands Ambulance station
A new ambulance station has been set up in north Worcestershire.
The site at Greenlands Business Centre in Studley Road, is the second station in Redditch, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
The service said it was part of plans to sell off some ambulance stations and replace them with community stations that cost less money.
A new team of paramedics will also start working in Redditch in April next year, the service said.
Assistant chief ambulance officer Mark Gough said: "Far from removing services, we are increasing and improving the service for Redditch and for Worcestershire.
"By having more stations, we will be closer to the patient, meaning we will be able to get to them more quickly."
There is also an ambulance station in the town at Cedar Park Road.
A meeting of the service's trust is being held on 25 July to decide whether Redditch will have a hub and two community ambulance stations or three community ambulance stations.
