New Upton upon Severn flood defences completed
- Published
New flood defences have been completed in a Worcestershire town which was hit by severe flooding in 2007.
Upton upon Severn has experienced property damage due to flooding six times in the last 10 years.
A wall and an embankment are due to be officially unveiled in New Street later by West Worcestershire Conservative MP Harriett Baldwin.
A flood wall in the Waterside area, which contains at-risk properties, is due to be completed in April next year.
Businesses there will be open as usual during the construction period.
Access to firms along New Street has returned to normal following work there, which began in February.
