Big wheel attraction planned for Windsor gardens
- Published
A large observation wheel is being proposed to stand in a public garden in Windsor.
An event firm wants to install the temporary 35m-high (115ft) wheel for six months in Alexandra Gardens.
It would be open from 22 March to 2 September - 11:00 to 21:00 at weekends and holidays and from 13:00 to 21:00 on week days.
The proposal will be considered by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council on 4 January.
The wheel, which can hold 144 passengers, would also take seven days to put up and about five days to dismantle.
Roses Pleasure Parks Limited, the firm behind the proposals, said the wheel would take visitors on three rotations and rides should last about 15-20 minutes.
The firm said tickets would be sold through an online ticket system and at the wheel itself.
