Welwyn: Arrest after 12-year-old girl hit by car

The driver of the black Mercedes E350 was arrested and bailed
A 12-year-old girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car.
Hertfordshire Police said the crash involving a black Mercedes E350 happened on the A1000 Hertford Road in Welwyn, close to junction six of the A1(M), at about 14:45 GMT on Friday.
The driver, a 43-year-old man from Knebworth, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was released on bail until 15 March.
Police have appealed for anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to get in touch.
