Tom Hiddleston is 'enjoying the possibility' of being Bond

Tom Hiddleston is incredibly polite when asked if he would consider taking over the James Bond franchise once Daniel Craig lets go.

"In an entirely hypothetical situation," Tom makes clear, before allowing his thoughts on playing Bond to tumble out.

"Of course it would be… that would be such a huge… I think I would enjoy the experience."

Excitingly, Loki as Bond could be a possibility then.

Tom says that so far he has never been formally approached by anyone connected with the James Bond films but he is "enjoying the possibility as we discuss it".

Tom Hiddleston is no stranger to a film franchise, having seen his career rocket since taking on the role of Thor's estranged brother in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011.

"I would never want to usurp or even attempt to usurp Daniel Craig's place in the James Bond pantheon," says Tom, smiling.

Plus, he adds that he "did hear recently that he's [Daniel Craig] going to make another one" so swapping Loki for Bond would still be years away, if it happened at all.

That's no bad thing though, considering Tom Hiddleston has already signed up for the next Thor film due in 2017 as well as the two-part Avengers: Infinity War which takes him up to 2019.

He can next be seen in Guillermo del Toro's gothic horror Crimson Peak, as well as the thriller High-Rise based on the JG Ballard novel which is showing at this month's London Film Festival.

"It would be a huge compliment and huge fun" to play James Bond, admits Tom Hiddleston, still considering the possibility then.

"But, you know, it feels so unlikely and imaginary."

Daniel Craig's fourth time playing 007 is about to arrive in cinemas, as Spectre is released in the UK on 26 October 2015.
