Calvin Harris has said he won't be performing on the remaining dates of Katy Perry's UK tour.

US singer Perry wrote on Twitter that he had cancelled his support slot in Dublin last night at the "last minute".

But Calvin Harris, 27, hit back saying her team had "suddenly moved the goalposts" and that he would have had to appear on stage with no production.

He said: "Trust me you would have been more disappointed seeing the show than u are with me cancelling."

The producer, singer/songwriter and DJ toured with Rihanna in Australia earlier this year after releasing his second album Ready For The Weekend in 2009.

He had been due to perform a DJ set with Katy Perry in Dublin on Monday night but pulled out before the show started.

'Offence'

He added: "Her show is awesome, you'll all have an amazing time without me. (especially w/o me DJing on a cardboard box in front of a pink curtain).

"I am really sorry @katyperry I'm just upset because I really wanted to play but ur team made it impossible.

"We tried really hard to sort it out, but playing side of stage for 30 mins, it seemed pointless me even being there.

"Didn't intend to cause offence or upset anybody."

But after announcing the news on Twitter, Katy Perry criticised Calvin Harris saying other stars on her California Dreams tour had been happy with the arrangements in place.

She said: "Funny the goal post seems to be perfectly fine for New Young Pony Club, Yelle, Robyn, Marina & The Diamonds to name a few.

"Or how bout Janell Monae and her 16 piece band... Etc... it's fine, I'm used to you cancelling on me, it's become ur staple!"

Katy Perry's next UK date is in Nottingham tomorrow night followed by concerts in Bournemouth, Cardiff, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow and London.

No replacement for Calvin Harris has been announced yet.
