Kings of Leon have broken the all-time sales barrier for the biggest first week digital album sales after the release of their fifth studio record.

Come Around Sundown was downloaded 49,000 times last week.

It's gone straight in at number one in the album chart and also has the biggest first week album sales of the year so far.

The band is playing a special gig for Radio 1 competition winners on Wednesday night (27 October).

Come Around Sundown sold more than 183,000 copies last week, according to figures from the Official Charts Company.

Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot said: "This is a fantastic achievement for Kings Of Leon and it shows just how quickly the digital album is evolving."
