Six people have been injured, one seriously, following a six-vehicle crash in Cornwall.

Police were called to the A39 at Trispen, between Carland Cross and Truro, shortly after 12:15 GMT on Sunday.

An 18-year-old man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Five other people were taken to hospital with less serious injuries.

Police said a total of 11 adults and children were involved in the crash.

Officers said the 18-year-old was the driver of a grey Vauxhall Astra and he remained in Derriford Hospital.

The road was closed for detailed investigation work.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
