People were evacuated from 69 properties following the discovery of two grenade-type devices in a street.

They were found in Watling Street, Preston, at about 12:25 BST on Tuesday, Lancashire Police said.

Both were destroyed in controlled explosions by an army bomb disposal team.

The force said one was found to be a viable explosive device and the other was not.

91热爆owners later returned to their properties.

Officers are investigating and anyone who saw anything unusual in the area earlier that day is urged to come forward.

"This is being treated as an isolated incident and we do not believe it is linked to any other investigations," said a police spokesman.
