Leale's Yard clearance approved by planners
- Published
The next stage of development on the Leale's Yard site in Guernsey has been approved by planners.
Approval has been granted for the existing buildings on the site to be demolished ahead of redevelopment.
However, the demolition can only take place once contracts for the redevelopment have been signed.
Planners have also given permission for fences to be erected around the site.
More than 330 houses, retail buildings and a car park are part of the plans for the area.
The site is owned by the Channel Islands Co-Operative and managed by developer Omnibus Investment Holdings.
Last week, Leale's Yard's director of development Charles McHugh said he expected work to begin on the site this year.
