Hospital gets 拢16m for eco-friendly heating

The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital has been given 拢16.2m to pay for an eco-friendly heating and energy scheme.
Another 拢1m has been given to Wellington Civic Centre under the same scheme to improve heating and insulation.
Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust which runs Royal Shrewsbury plans to use the money to fit solar panels and replace its existing heating with more efficient air source heat pumps.
It also intends to improve pipework and roof insulation and to install more LED lighting.
Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre also plans to install air source heat pumps, along with cavity wall and roof insulation.
The money has come from a government de-carbonisation fund.
