An investigation has been launched into the "unexpected" death of a baby boy, police have said.
Lancashire Police were called to a home on Moorland Road, Burnley at about 07:30 BST on Monday where a baby boy was found unresponsive by the North West Ambulance Service.
A police spokesperson said: "Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he was later pronounced deceased in hospital."
They said the boy's death was being treated as "unexpected", and asked anyone with information that could help their enquiries to contact them.
"Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this incredibly distressing time," the spokesperson added.
