Road improvement scheme to start overnight

Work to upgrade a main road in Burton upon Trent is set to start, with lane closures and temporary traffic lights in place overnight.
The £270,000 scheme will focus on the A511 Horninglow Street, outside the National Brewery Centre.
It will see the route from Brewers Close junction reconstructed, with damaged drainage systems, kerbs and paths repaired or replaced.
Staffordshire County Council said the two-week project would take place from Monday 19:00-06:00 BST to minimise disruption on the local community.
The local authority said closures and temporary lights would be removed during the day.
"I’m confident that Burton’s residents will be pleased with the smooth newly-resurfaced route as they travel through the town centre in just over a couple of weeks' time," said James Bailey, assistant director for highways.
Work to reconstruct and resurface part of the A5121 Derby Road was completed last week.
