Man charged with woman's murder appears in court

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 57-year-old woman.
The body of Eve McIntyre was discovered by police after they were called to an address on Sunderland Road, Gateshead, early on Thursday.
A man was later arrested and subsequently charged with her murder.
The 42-year-old, of Sunderland Road, did not enter a plea at Newcastle Magistrates' Court and was remanded to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on 27 August.
