Man in his 70s dies after being struck by car

A man in his 70s who was struck by a car on a main road has died.
Lancashire Police were called to Whalley Road, Pendleton, at about 14:45 BST on Friday after a blue Toyota C-HR collided with a pedestrian.
A local man died at the scene, police confirmed, and nobody in the Toyota was injured.
Det Supt Helen Parkinson said the force's "thoughts are with his loved ones at this distressing time".
Officers are appealing for anyone with any information or footage to get in touch with police.
