Man attacked with hammer and baseball bat

A man was seriously injured after being attacked with hammers and a baseball bat as he sat in his car in what police described as a targeted attack.
It happened on Wordsworth Road in Accrington at about 08:30 GMT on Wednesday, Lancashire Police said.
The man, aged in his 50s, was assaulted by six men who were travelling in a Land Rover and a BMW X5.
They used the two cars to trap the victim before attacking him, injuring his legs and face, the force said.
Det Ch Insp Sarah Denson said: 鈥淎s we investigate what happened, we are appealing for witnesses and any information.
鈥淚f anyone has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time it happened, we want you to contact the police.鈥
