A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a tram in Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to Chilwell Road, Beeston, at about 14:30 GMT on Thursday after a collision involving a pedestrian and a tram.

The extent of the man's injuries is currently unknown, says the force.

Tram operator Nottingham Express Transit (NET) says its services between Cator Lane and Beeston have been suspended, and an investigation is underway.
