Two people arrested after city centre stabbing

Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed inside a property in Liverpool city centre.
Merseyside Police said the man in his 30s sustained a serious facial injury and was taken to hospital after the incident on Upper Parliament Street.
They said they were called to the scene by North West Ambulance Service at about 03:45 BST.
A 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Liverpool, have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent, with the man also arrested on suspicion of assault.
'Nasty assault'
Both remain in police custody.
Police said a cordon remained in place while officers carried out an investigation.
Det Insp Ben Wayment said: "This was a nasty assault that has left a man in hospital with a serious facial injury.
"We are in the very early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish the circumstances of what happened."
He appealed for anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage to contact police.
