A college has had to shut after a fire at its in-house animal shelter.
Kendal College, in Cumbria, said its Milnthorpe Road Campus was closed on Wednesday after the blaze.
The animal shelter, associated with the college's animal care course, shared on social media that all the animals were safe.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said it was investigating the cause of the fire, which broke out at about 17:30 BST on Tuesday. The college's website said it expected to reopen on Thursday.
The post said: "Following the fire tonight at Kendal College in the rescue centre, all animals and people are alive."
Four fire engines from Kendal, Milnthorpe and Windermere were at the scene for two hours.
