Work to turn a landmark Liverpool building into a major film studios is continuing apace.

The Littlewoods building on Edge Lane has been derelict for 30 years and was nearly destroyed by a fire in 2018.

Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram wants to transform the former Pools building into "the Hollywood of the north" and for it to become "the epicentre of everything film-wise in the UK".

Work to take down and rebuild the building’s famous but structurally unsafe clock tower has already begun.

It is hoped the site - which will include film production sound stages, studios, office and training space - will create hundreds of jobs for people on Merseyside and beyond.
