Injured man prompts probe into street shooting

A man arriving at hospital with bullet wounds in the early hours has prompted a police investigation.
The West Midlands force thinks the shooting may have occurred on Hamstead Road in Handsworth, Birmingham.
The injured man presented at hospital at about 04:30 GMT, and his injuries were understood to not be life-threatening.
A crime scene was in place on Hamstead Road as officers carried out inquiries and CCTV checks.
The investigation was at an early stage, and there would continue to be a visible police presence in the area, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting was urged to contact the force.
