A strike by tanker drivers, who supply garage forecourts and aviation fuel, has been called off after an improved pay deal was agreed, a union has said.
Members of Unite union based at Stanlow Oil Refinery in Cheshire had planned to walk out between 13 and 15 June, affecting deliveries across the north-west of England and Scottish Borders.
The drivers, who work for Oxalis, formerly Hoyer, said the original pay offer was significantly lower than that of their colleagues in other parts of the country.
Strike action due to take place last week was postponed and all further scheduled action has since been called off after the new pay offer.
Unite General Secretary, Sharon Graham, said: 鈥淐ongratulations to Oxalis鈥檚 Stanlow tanker drivers, who stood together for better pay and won.
鈥淭his is yet another example of how Unite鈥檚 unrelenting focus on improving jobs, pay and conditions is boosting our members鈥 incomes.鈥
Unite regional officer Paul Lomax said: 鈥淭his pay win could not have been secured without the hard work and solidarity of our members.鈥
