A man in his 30s has died after the motorbike he was riding crashed into a tree in Shropshire.

West Mercia Police said it happened at about 19:00 BST on Saturday, on the A442 at the junction for Old Worcester Road in Danesford near Bridgnorth.

The force said that despite the efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers want to hear from witnesses or anyone who saw the BMW S1000RR motorbike travelling on the A442 between 18:30 and 19:00.

A force spokesperson said the motorcyclist "may have been riding in convoy" with two other bikes, believed to be a black Yamaha and a black Honda, before the crash.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage has been asked to contact police.
