Heat of cannabis farm detected by police aircraft

A cannabis farm with more than 200 plants was discovered after a police aircraft detected heat radiating from its roof.
Northumbria Police raided an address in Birtley in Gateshead after reviewing aerial thermal images of "suspicious activity" taken by the National Police Air Service.
As part of Operation Vienna, officers discovered a "complex drugs set-up" of plants in three rooms at the address.
The force said a 26-year-old man had been charged with the production of cannabis.
