Three men and two youths have been arrested after a member of the public said they had spotted a group with a machete in Nottingham.
Nottinghamshire Police said a 999 caller reported seeing the group pull the weapon from a bush at a skatepark, in Sussex Street, shortly before 21:30 BST on Saturday.
Officers attended and detained three at the scene, while two others were arrested a short time later after a chase through the Lace Market area.
The skatepark area was searched and police said they found wraps of suspected cocaine and a machete.
'Untold misery'
The five 鈥 aged 15, 17, 18, 18 and 18 鈥 were arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
All five were bailed with conditions while police carry out further investigative work.
PC Oliver Grosvenor said: 鈥淒rugs and weapons cause untold misery in local communities and I hope this action serves as a clear message that we will not tolerate this sort of criminal behaviour in Nottingham.
鈥淚 would like to thank the member of the public who alerted us to this matter so that we could respond as part of our ongoing work to keep communities safe.鈥
